An interactive experience that educates Boulder residents on how wildfire spreads through the Rockies

I worked with a team of five other Master’s students at CU Boulder’s Creative Technology and Design program to craft an interactive experience that would teach residents of the Colorado rockies about how fire spreads in mountains. To craft this project, our group designed branding, a user interface, web design, educational information, projection mapping, and a large scale topographical map of the mountains right outside Boulder, Colorado.

As the manager of this team of students, I experienced the importance of cross functional communication and accountability. My engineering backgrounded meant that I understood how all of the pieces of this project functionally fit together, but I had to count on the design capabilities of my teammates to make Fireside Interactive impactful and intuitive.
